origin neighbors: "like" this comment if Origin raised your rent more than 20%… they just raised our neighbor's rent over 25%... $700+ more per month. read those reviews before you consider living here. and remember they incentivize tenants to write positive reviews. Look, I don't want to write this review but it's frustrating to have so many issues and still get gouged on rent. This is one of the most expensive buildings in Arlington. "Luxury" is front doors that haven't worked for over 2 years. They don't lock, sometimes they don't even open, and the handicap button has never functioned. Zero security and we're right next to a bus stop and busy city street. Random people walk through the lobby with packages unattended. It's unacceptable. Come tour so you can see the broken TV on the patio, leaking ceilings, printer that doesn't work, more broken doors on the roof (good luck getting to the pool), and the bathroom with a sink that simply doesn't turn on. All in all, a beautiful building built in 2018 and falling more into disrepair each day. $2800 for a studio but they can't get the front doors to work.

I used to love this building and was one of the first ten people to move in. I have emails going back multiple years asking why the front door cannot be fixed and locked. It has been broken and wide open for anyone to walk through, and people going and coming to the mall to cut through, for almost four years now! That’s not to mention packages get lost repeatedly though they are logged in, security cameras mysteriously go down and they cannot track theft in the building or garage. There is no eagerness or willingness to maintain this building in a manner suitable of a “luxury apartment” and it clearly shows.

I lived here for two and a half years and absolutely loved it! The management team were really great and actually listened to any concerns that may have come up which was something that I didn't find at other places I've lived. The maintenance team and front desk people are super nice. The apartments are well insulated so you don't really hear your neighbors and the amenities are great. Highly recommend! I would still be living there if I didn't have to move out of state for work.

The best place to live in the DMV. The location is perfect I mean we have a CVS a Bash boxing Union kitchen, compass coffee, A place to buy plants and a place to groom and babysit your dog, ALL DOWNSTAIRS. The building Is beautiful amazing art everywhere. Origin has a very spacious party room and conference room. Little offices with the privacy doors, The roof top is Stunning Beautiful pool HUGE!! The apartment has beautiful layouts Extremely spacious especially with him walk-in master bedrooms. The team that works there is phenomenal it’s like a family The maintenance engineer Rafael Miguel is very kind helpful and always willing to lend a hand.

Absolutely recommend Origin! By FAR the best apartment complex in the area. We've have had a wonderful experience living here over the past year and recently transitioned from a loft to a two bedroom (which they made such a smooth process!). The location, amenities (gym/pool/rooftop dog park/common areas), and units themselves truly can't be beat, and the staff ALWAYS exceeds expectations. They go completely above and beyond to make sure your experience is as great as possible, and care more about the residents than any other apartment complex we've lived in. Definitely would like to give a huge shout out to Alex, Rafael, Wilbur, Mohammed, and all of the other wonderful maintenance/cleaning/concierge team for all that they have done (and continue to do!) to make our experience living at Origin so positive. Can't begin to express how much we appreciate each and every one of them! They are quick to address (and fully resolve!) any and all concerns we've had, and always ensure that common areas are spotless. We've also been so impressed with how soundproof the units are (literally never hear neighbors!), and absolutely love all of the friends we've made living here. So grateful to call Origin home!

concierge is extremely racist and unwelcoming. i saw this building after my wonderful tour at 4040 Wilson across the street and decided to check it out. as soon as i walked in looking for the leasing office the front desk man, short with dull skin and black hair, started hounding me on why i was there. i stated i was looking for the leasing office and he just began barking at me "they dont take walk ins, they dont take walk ins". it was such a manic and unwelcoming reaction to a simple question. i had to literally ask him to get me a pamphlet and asked to schedule a tour, he was not intending to help me at all, he simply wanted me to leave. meanwhile theres a review on here from a white woman that states, and i quote: "Spoke to the concierge who informed me that there were no other appointments for the day so I would be able to tour. As I was filling out the introduction form...". concierge took the discrimination further by lying. he stated it HAD to be booked online (which i later found out was not true plus i booked my tour on a phone call). i'd mentioned to him early in our interaction i did not appreciate the way i was being treated. he condescendingly repeated again "we dont take walk ins". very coded way to express they dont want black residents. i'd heard rumors about the south but thought in 2023 that ship would have sailed. during my tour the next day i told the leasing agent how i found the building and that i was here the other day, HE ASKED WHY I DID NOT BOOK A TOUR ON SITE. any professional and unbiased concierge would have at least allowed me to speak to the leasing team and aided me in my search. my leasing agent tried his best but he was unprofessional and lacked knowledge about the units he showed (which he quickly looked up and jolted on a sticky note after i arrived). when i'd walked in the leasing office he was in there with his feet up eating sour patch kids lol. he took personal texts during the tour and made me ask to see certain parts of the common area. the building itself has potential but common areas are filthy. the lounge is by the gym which made it stink of sweat throughout (or possibly pipes/water damage). there is construction going on in that same building which the agent was transparent about. the gym is poorly organized. it's a basic white room with random equipment strewn around. at the end of the tour i had to request copies of floor plans & contact info for him. the agent ran out of copies of the floor plan i like and didnt offer to print one out. he'd ran out of business cards as well for follow up... needless to say there are much better buildings in the ballston area that are professionally run and welcome ALL people.

My husband and I lived at Origin for two years and really enjoyed our time there. Our unit was very quiet and we almost never heard neighbors. We rarely had any maintenance issues, but when we did, they were fixed immediately. In general, life at Origin was pretty seamless -- packages were handled without issue, it was easy to book an elevator when moving in and out, etc. If you are able to get a western facing unit, the sunsets are amazing! We loved having our floor to ceiling windows every night. What really made Origin stand out was how easy the process was to leave our lease a bit early due to a job relocation. Origin made what could have been a painful process very easy and we're really appreciative of that. We wished we could have stayed longer!
